is it really important/necessary to put activated carbon into your filter after medicating your tank?

i usually dont use carbon in my filter but i am finishing up treating my aquarium with api general cure as a preventive because i just added a new fish and i want to quarantine him.its a 10 gallon and i want to know, no.1 if i really need to add carbon after treatment and no2. if so how long should i keep it in until i can remove the carbon once again? thanks!

Absolutely. This is the only time you need carbon, but you do need it. Leave it in for a weak or so. just make sure that you use it in addition to your usual filtration media, so that when you do remove it, you don’t kill your cycle.
